Tall Ships Festival - May 31 - Jun 2

Sara KGBB - Friday, April 05, 2013

Just about all of that 'cruddy muddy snow' has melted away now that the days are longer and slightly warmer. We've moved all of the winter decor items back up to the attic, and hauled down the Spring/Summer stuff - now we just need Mother Nature to cooperate! We hosted a lovely family wedding & reception last weekend and it was such a blessing to have sunshine right through until 7:30 PM for photos (even though it was a little chilly for the bride in her strapless satin gown!) Now we're eager to get outside and clean up the yard, install the fountain and pond pumps, and plant the urns & boxes for the summer.  John is happy baseball has begun - so his contribution has to be scheduled around the ballgames!  We've sent our Afternoon Tea brochure to the printer, along with our Tall Ships special evening menu to coincide with the arrival of 8 Tall Ships on May 31st. We're offering a selection of pub-type fare for just the 3 nights (Fri/Sat/Sun) and already have bookings for rooms that same weekend. This is a really big event for Miramichi, with helicopter rides, a re-enactment of a War of 1812 battle, fireworks & burning ships and of course, the individual ship tours. Hope it starts our season off with a bang! Here's our menu for the 3 three nights:

We're heading off the the Saltscapes Expo in Halifax at the end of the month for our mini-vacation and hope to visit with family as well. Then we'll have to start looking for a new housekeeper since Debbie is heading back to Mississauga. She has done an outstanding job, especially with Spring Cleaning this year and will be missed!
